The Bangla Centre SCIO consists of 3 parts. Each Section’s targets and purposes are different than each other.

Part 1

We run a community centre to serve People of Glasgow, based in Springburn.

The target of Balgrayhill Community Centre is to serve as a local, accessible hub that fosters community cohesion, improves the health and wellbeing of residents, and provides a space for social and recreational activities.

PART 2

A place for all British Bangladeshi Kids, mainly from Glasgow to have a place where they can learn more about their roots.

We deliver various activities to keep the kids energised and train how to read and write Bangla.

This is a self funded project, independent and run from donations from Various Bangladeshi Parents who want their children to learn about their roots.

PART 3

A place for all British Bangladeshi/Bangladehsi People in Glasgow for social gathering via various activities, sports, cultural events etc. 

We work for mental wellbeing, adaptation to new culture, specially designed for Bangladeshi people and create a bridge between Scottish and Bangladeshi cultures so that they feel proud to live in Glasgow.

It is an honoured to be noticed and appreciated. We have successfully secured funding from the Glasgow Festival Fund to host a vibrant and inclusive festival at Balgrayhill Community Centre

The Bangla School has been operating since 1978 as a Bengali language and educational initiative to serve the needs of Bangla-speaking community members in Scotland, especially the Western Scottish regions, and remains at the heart of Bangla Centre.
